About

Seed library on the day of installation, 4/8/22.

Although I had wanted to host a book library for years, the opportunity for a community seed library arose first thanks to The Little Seed Library non-profit organization located in Plano, TX, providing the box and seeds and the Leadership Garland team for promoting access to community gardening in Garland by setting up several of these libraries throughout the city and reaching out to me to be a steward.
The seed library box contains seeds for nonnative (we try to keep out the invasive ones) edible and ornament plants, as well as Texas native plants. I'm very passionate about supporting local ecosystems, and growing native plants is one of the most helpful things we can do to support wildlife!
The book library will be a place for all ages and flavors of diversity. I'm just as passionate about literacy and the availability of books as I am about the environment!
I hope this will be a place to both bring together and uplift our local community—and anyone else who passes through. With that in mind, please consider following us on social media (see links at the top and bottom of this site) and tagging us when you visit—I love to hear from you and see how you're putting these resources to use.
Thank you for being here and for being part of the community!
